Statement of Interest:
My work principally concentrates on studying gravity and quantum
field theories. I am interested in probing the origin of gravitational
thermodynamics. Building upon prior work by myself, collaborators, and
colleagues, I seek to explore the statistical mechanics of AdS black
holes via the dual CFT. I want to identify black hole microstates and
the corresponding CFT operators and understand their physics, both in
cases with and without supersymmetry. I also want to develop a better
understanding of how the Standard Model descends from string
theory. By exploring the moduli space of N=1 theories such as the
MSSM, I wish to relate geometric structures in the vacuum manifold to
interesting phenomenology. As well, I want to exploit insights about
the algebraic geometry of the vacuum manifold of the low-energy theory
to realize these structures within string theory.
