Very broadly, I am interested in mathematical applications of quantum field theory and string theory to geometry and topology, and vice versa. More specifically, my attention centers on mathematical aspects of string and M-theory compactifications which preserve N=1 supersymmetry in four dimensions. I am also keenly interested in the various quasi-topological string theories, such as the open string A- and B-models and the half-twisted heterotic string, which provide toy models to study N=1 supersymmetric backgrounds.
