Statement of Interest:
My research focuses on four-dimensional string theory
compactifications emphasizing both their phenomenological
and conceptual aspects. This includes a detailed study of
the minimally supersymmetric effective actions and the
interrelation of the internal geometries and the
phenomenological properties of the effective theories.
I study the compactifications of string theory with D-branes, orientifold planes and background fluxes
and their F-theory and M-theory lifts. Within these
compactifications I investigate GUT model building, supersymmetry breaking as well as the embedding of
simple cosmological scenarios.
