Statement of Interest:


  My current research focuses on AdS/CFT for non-Lorentzian systems. 
Research in this area suggest the possibility of two new tools. One is 
the understanding of quantum critical theories at strong coupling. 
The second is the addition of tools for constructing from string
theory field theories with novel properties. Other topics on which I 
have worked include anisotropic theories of gravity; the recent 
advances in understanding M2 branes and 2+1-dimensional 
superconformal field theories; and the geometry and topology of 
heterotic compactifications, particularly regarding the appearance
of non-perturbatively enhanced gauge symmetries in 4D and 6D
compactifications.
