Currently i'm most intersted in a better understanding of the string theory BPS spectrum, and especially its relation to black hole entropy. Both at strong coupling, in the supergravity regime, and at weak coupling, in the D-brane regime, there are various interesting physical phenomena related in the BPS Hilbert space. Recently there has for example been much interest in understanding the jumps of the BPS spectrum accros walls of marginal stability, captured in so called wall crossing formulae. In 4d N=2 supergravity wall crossing is closely related to the existence of multicentered black hole solutions. Over the last year my collaborators and i have studied some of the general properties of these multicentered black holes using various tools. Among other things we analysed how such solutions appear in the AdS/CFT correspondence and more recently were able to do a quantization of their BPS degrees of freedom directly from the supergravity description. This work has led to some unexpected and new insights about these solutions and the BPS spectrum in general. The further exploration of those is work in progress.
