Statement of Interest:

I am interested in supersymmetry breaking mechanisms in string theory and their application to string phenomenology. My past work has focused on configurations which are related by dualities to minimal area M5-branes. This allows several mechanisms to be described by a single framework in which the scalar potential is determined by geometry. Currently, I am studying more phenomenologically viable models of SUSY-breaking and their realization in string theory, specifically F-theory compactifications. I am also quite intrigued by the 3-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Chern-Simons theory introduced by Bagger and Lambert as a possible worldvolume description of coincident M2 branes. Whether or not this theory turns out to be truly relevant for the physics of M2 branes, it is quite interesting nonetheless so I am trying to better understand various aspects of it.
