Statement of Interest:

My research concerns three areas: (1) closed-string tachyons, especially spacetime effective actions for them; (2) static numerical relativity, in particular new methods for finding higher-dimensional black holes and for computing Ricci-flat metrics on Calabi-Yau manifolds; (3) applications of holography to thermal gauge theories and to quantum information theory.
