The C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics is proud to announce that three outstanding physicists will join its faculty in the course of the 2011-2012 academic year.

Their areas of interest and accomplishment will further extend and deepen the traditionally broad research coverage of the Institute and enhance the Institute's engagement with the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Their commitment to teaching will further enrich instruction and advanced training at Stony Brook.  In the order of their scheduled arrival, our new faculty are:

Tzu-Chieh Wei, working on quantum information and condensed matter physics.  Tzu-Chieh will join the Institute in September, from the University of British Columbia.

Rouven Essig, working on dark matter, LHC phenomenology and supersymmetry.   Rouven will join the Institute in October, from SLAC.

Christopher Herzog, working on the AdS/CFT Correspondence and gauge/gravity dualities, with applications to QCD and condensed matter physics.   Christopher will join the Institute in January, from Princeton.
