The YITP is proud that Prof. Warren Siegel has been awarded the 2017 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activity for decades of creative research and influential mentorship.  The Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activity is a SUNY-wide award intended to recognize consistently outstanding scholarly and creative productivity of its faculty.

Warren Siegel joined the C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stony Brook in 1988.   Warren Siegel is known as a well spring of creative, influential ideas of lasting value in quantum field theory and string theory. Warren devotes his extraordinary energy to his research, creative publications, and mentorship.

This year the YITP is doubly proud to have two of its core members, Elizabeth Gasparino and Warren Siegel, recognized by the SUNY Chancellor.
