C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics

The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation has conducted its annual Fellowship competitions since 1925, "intended for men and women who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts."  The Fellowships are among the most prestigious "mid career" awards in all fields of research and the arts. YITP Professor Christopher Herzog, in collaboration with the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics and the Theatre Arts Department, organized the 2012-13 SBU Science Playwriting Competition. The competition was open to the entire Stony Brook University community.  The winning entries received staged readings on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Simons Center.  More details can be found at the website http://www.scgp.stonybrook.edu/scienceplays , and in a description of the event here.

The "LHC Theory Initiative" (LHC TI) is an NSF Program that recognizes students and postdocs working on LHC-related topics.  Visiting fellows and three senior participants will present talks on theory topics related to the LHC.   A list of talks is here.
